Kia India has launched the Seltos in the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom), which goes up to Rs 19.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The car was unveiled in the country earlier and has been available for booking since December 11 for a token amount of Rs 25,000. According to the automaker's announcement, deliveries are scheduled to begin in mid-January. Here we take a look at the details of the new SUV.

The latest Kia Seltos comes in five different trim options: HTE, HTK, HTX, GTX, and X-Line. The HTE serves as the base model, whereas the GTX represents the top-end variant of this SUV. Below are the prices for these different trims.

New Kia Seltos: Design
The latest iteration of the Kia Seltos features a refreshed front design that showcases the brand's global styling approach. It features a tiger nose grille, flanked by vertical lighting elements and a more upright profile. Additionally, this SUV sports new 18-inch alloy wheels and an updated tailgate design with connected taillights. Both the front and rear have been enhanced with new bumpers and gunmetal-finished skid plates.

New Kia Seltos: Dimensions
Constructed on the K3 platform, the updated generation Seltos has been lengthened, making it the largest in its class at 4,460 mm. Its width has been increased to 1,830 mm, and its height is now 1,635 mm. Moreover, the wheelbase has been extended by 80 mm, now reaching 2,690 mm.
New Kia Seltos: Interior
The cabin of the second-generation Kia Seltos features a revamped dashboard design with new dual-tone highlights and leatherette upholstery, boosting its contemporary look. The SUV now includes a flat-bottom steering wheel that displays an offset brand emblem and a new 30-inch integrated dual-screen setup with a single curved display. Furthermore, it incorporates physical controls for various functions and rotary controls for selected features.

New Kia Seltos: Features
This version of the Seltos is loaded with features such as dual-zone climate control, ventilation for the seats, a wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a heads-up display (HUD), powered driver seats, and a memory feature for the ORVM. Additionally, it offers an eight-speaker Bose audio system, ambient lighting, rear reclining seats, and smart proximity key access, among other features.

Regarding safety, the vehicle is equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESP), hill-start assist, disc brakes on all wheels, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, remote control with over-the-air (OTA) updates, and Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and navigation-based smart cruise control. It also includes multiple traction control modes, such as Snow, Mud, and Sand.
New Kia Seltos: Powertrain
The new Kia Seltos offers options of two petrol engines and one diesel engine. It retains a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 115 hp and 144 Nm of torque, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 160 hp and 253 Nm, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Available transmission options include manual transmission (MT), intelligent Variable Transmission (iVT), dual-clutch transmission (DCT), and automatic transmission (AT).

In a highly competitive market, it competes against rivals such as the Tata Sierra, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, and others.
