Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has introduced the refreshed Punch facelift in the Indian market, priced from Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the updated model are now underway. With its latest design tweaks and feature upgrades, the Punch facelift is positioned to strengthen its appeal against competitors such as the Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and others. The new Tata Punch gets eight variants in the catalogue. Here's what it has to offer.
Tata Punch facelift: Engine And Powertrain
The updated Tata Punch retains the familiar 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol motor, producing 88 hp and 115 Nm, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Buyers also have the option of a petrol+CNG variant, offered with the same transmission choices. In CNG mode, this engine delivers 73.4 hp and 103 Nm. Adding to the lineup, the facelift introduces a brand-new 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit that generates 120 hp and 170 Nm of torque, available exclusively with a manual gearbox.
