India's vanishing girls: Doctor barred for pre-natal sex test

For the first time, a doctor in Madhya Pradesh has been barred from practicing for violating the Pre-natal Diagnostic Test Act. This comes just days after the Census data threw up alarming child sex ratio numbers. Madhya Pradesh has 912 girls per 1000 boys, a figure that is even worse than the national average.
