As the political crisis within the Trinamool Congress intensifies, senior TMC leader Kirti Azad has strongly defended Mamata Banerjee and dismissed claims made by rebel MPs.
Speaking to NDTV, Kirti Azad questioned the authenticity and circumstances surrounding the signatures on a letter allegedly backed by rebel MPs. He claimed that several MPs were pressured into supporting the rebellion and accused the BJP of attempting to engineer a split within the party through "Operation Lotus".
