A 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by an Assistant Sub-Inspector in Chanana police chowki here following which the cop was today suspended.
In her complaint, the woman alleged that ASI Laxminarayan had raped her yesterday at the police chowki under Chidawa police station, police said.
The ASI had been raping her on several occasions in the last two years, she alleged.
Initial investigation has revealed that the accused had yesterday called the woman to the chowki, of which he was in-charge and raped her, SP Jhunjhunu Surendra Gupta said.
"The accused was arrested and suspended today after the woman lodged a complaint," he said, adding that other staff have been transferred to police lines.
Based on her complaint, an FIR has been registered against the accused, he said.
Medical examination of the survivor was conducted, the SP said, adding the matter is being investigated.
