Madhya Pradesh Constable Allegedly Rapes 17-Year-Old Girl, Suspended

Ashoknagar, Madhya Pradesh: A 17-year-old girl from Ashoknagar was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a police constable.

"Constable Yogendra Raghuvanshi, who was known to the victim, a resident of Ashok Nagar, took her along with him under the pretext of dropping her to school after she missed her bus. He took her to Guna district where he raped her," said Superintendent of Police Santosh Singh Gaur.

The girl returned home on Tuesday evening and narrated her ordeal, following which she and her father approached Kotwali police station.

A case was registered against Mr Raghuvanshi under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape) of IPC on Tuesday night.

Mr Raghuvanshi, posted at police line, was suspended and efforts are on to trace him, the officer added.
