From Across Political Divide, Congratulations Pour in For Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi:

As the Aam Aadmi Party heads for a landslide victory in the Delhi Assembly elections, congratulatory messages poured in for the party and its chief Arvind Kejriwal from friends and rivals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the first to send his good wishes. BJP's Kiran Bedi, who lost from Krishna Nagar and the party's Delhi unit chief Satish Upadhyay also tweeted their messages to Mr Kejriwal.

Here are some of them:

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her son and party vice president Rahul Gandhi also congratulated Mr Kejriwal.

"My congratulations to Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party for their victory. The people of Delhi have chosen AAP and we respect that. I wish Kejriwal and his team the very best," Rahul Gandhi said.

 

 

Messages poured in from leaders of political parties who had urged Delhi to vote for AAP - the JD(U), the Trinamool Congress. National Conference chief Omar Abdullah congratulated Mr Kejriwal too.

"The Delhi elections have resulted in a tremendous victory for the AAP, my congratulations to them. My congratulations to the people of Delhi for giving such a strong message to the country," said JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar.
