Delhi girl raped in car, forced to take contraceptives

Delhi: Three persons including a juvenile forced a girl to take contraceptive pills after they raped her in a moving car. The trio allegedly kidnapped her from a public place in Dwarka in southwest Delhi three days ago.

A senior police officer said all the three accused have been arrested and a case of kidnapping and gangrape has been lodged against them.

Police said Avnish Yadav, Karambir alias Kundan and his cousin, a juvenile, were arrested on the basis of the allegation made by the victim.

"The victim lives in Palam area. She told the police that she had gone to the local market to fetch some vegetables when the men kidnapped her in their Wagon R. The trio took her to a wooded area near a canal where they raped her inside the car. The culprits then forced her to take contraceptive pills so she didn't get pregnant," said a senior police officer.

The official further stated that the girl was scared and consumed the contraceptive pills. She then went home and narrated the entire incident to her family members who approached the police. She was taken to a nearby government hospital where rape was established in her medical examination.

After getting the report, police lodged an FIR of gangrape and kidnapping against the trio and conducted raids.

"We booked the juvenile accused under kidnapping as he did not rape the victim. He knew the victim and helped his cousin and friend rape her. The other two, Avnish and Karambir, have been charged with rape. The victim had consumed all the contraceptives otherwise we would have kept them in our possession as evidence. Perhaps this is first time when a rapist offered the victim contraceptive pills so that she doesn't get pregnant," stated the officer.

The officer said that the victim has been sent to Sema Kutir in the area.
