Telangana row: Fasting Chandrababu Naidu refuses to vacate Andhra Bhavan premises in Delhi
New Delhi: A day into his hunger strike in Andhra Bhavan in Delhi, TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu was today asked by authorities to vacate the premises.

Residence Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh Bhavan served a notice to the TDP chief stating that the hunger strike is "unauthorised" as permission was granted only for a Press meet at the venue, TDP spokesman Shiva Prasad Rao said.

But the TDP chief remains defiant and refused to shift the venue of his fast. Mr Naidu wrote to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary against the notice seeking permission to continue fast at the Andhra Bhavan.

"What crime I have committed? When Jagan Mohan Reddy was in jail, he took part in fast against jail manual. But why should I vacate from Andhra Bhavan as I am under fast for a good cause," he said.

The former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister began an indefinite fast Monday to protest against the split of Andhra Pradesh, accusing Congress of playing politics in view of the Lok Sabha polls.

He said he wanted to expose the Congress party, which he accused of "match fixing with YSR Congress and TRS" over Telangana.

"Congress is adamant and playing politics. It is unfortunate," the TDP chief said.

He also stressed that problems must be sorted out amicably. "Justice should be done. They (Congress) have to pay the price for what they have done," Naidu added.
