Lawyer who alleged sexual harassment by judge has completed testimony

Women lawyers demand action on a lawyer's allegation that she was sexually harassed by Supreme Court judge

New Delhi: The young woman lawyer who alleged that a Supreme Court judge sexually harassed her has said that she has complete faith in the inquiry that's being held by three judges.

A source close to her told NDTV that in her testimony on Monday, the lawyer named the judge she blogged about earlier this month. She had written that he harassed her on Christmas Eve in a hotel room in Delhi. In her blog, she did not name the judge, but said that he has since retired.

The friend also denied some media reports that the lawyer kept the three judges waiting for her second round of testimony yesterday. She had shared all details at the first hearing, and had informed the committee that she would not be able to return on account of work commitments, the friend said.

In a statement released today, the woman, who testified for the committee of Supreme Court judges on Monday, said, "During the meeting, I presented all the details of the case to the Committee. I am confident that the Committee will follow all the different lines of enquiry, and will establish the truth of my statements." (Read entire statement here)

Six days after her blog was posted, the Supreme Court set up a committee of three judges to investigate the case.
