Vijayawada: A daily wage worker in Andhra Pradesh became a millionaire overnight - albeit on paper - after he found over Rs. 1.26 crore balance in his bank account.

Nazir, who lives in Amileypalli village of Chittoor district, received a message on his mobile phone that Rs 1,26,76,436 had been credited to his account in Andhra Bank.

The message alert appeared after he deposited Rs 250 in his account on Wednesday.

Shocked, he met bank officials who claimed they have no idea how the money got deposited in his account.

The incident is now being investigated by Income Tax department.

He approached the 'bank mitra' and obtained a mini statement which indeed showed over Rs 1.26 crore balance in his account.
