Oprah Winfrey says she recently learned she has a half-sister she never knew about.
Winfrey made the announcement on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' that aired Monday morning. She says she has a sister who lives in Milwaukee.
Winfrey announced that she was related to a woman identified only as Patricia. She says Patricia had known the two were related since 2007. Even though she continually tried to reach Winfrey, she never went to the media or otherwise publicized her discovery.
Patricia appeared on the show and explained that she felt it was important that she talk to Winfrey herself and not let someone else tell her.
