India today reported 1,260 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of coronavirus infections to 4,30,27,035. India also recorded 83 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry.

The Union Health Ministry data showed active cases declined to 13,445, comprising 0.03 per cent of the total infections.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.76 per cent, the ministry said, adding that the daily positivity rate was at 0.24 per cent.

Over 184.52 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far in the country, according to the Co-WIN dashboard.

COVID-19 India News: Delhi Reports 114 New Covid Cases
Delhi on Saturday reported 114 new COVID-19 cases. The total count of COVID-19 cases in the city has moved up to 18,65,215. The city now has 509 active cases. A total of 16,061 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours and a positivity rate of 0.71 per cent was observed. The city's health department said 88 recoveries were reported on Saturday taking the total recoveries to 18,38,553. The death count stands at 26,153 and the fatality rate is 1.4 per cent. (ANI)

COVID-19 India News: Nagaland Reports One New Covid Infection, Active Cases At 15
Nagaland's COVID-19 tally increased to 35,477 on Saturday as another person tested positive for the infection, a health official said. The state now has 15 active cases, while 33,219 people have recovered from the disease, 759 have died due to the infection and 1,484 patients have migrated to other states so far. Nagaland has thus far tested over 4.69 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 146 in the last 24 hours. The state had not reported any case on Friday. (PTI)

Mizoram reports 112 new COVID-19 cases, one fresh fatality
Mizoram reported 112 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the caseload to 2,24,634, while the death count rose to 686 as one more patient succumbed to the infection, a health department official said.

The state had reported 162 new cases and one death on Friday.

The northeastern state now has 878 active coronavirus cases, while 2,23,070 patients have recovered from the disease, including 178 on Saturday, the official said.

Mizoram has tested more than 18.99 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 896 on Thursday.

Bengal logs 70 new COVID-19 cases
West Bengal recorded 70 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, taking the tally to 20,17,459, a health department bulletin said.

As no coronavirus fatality was registered for the last 11 days, the death toll remained at 21,197.

Forty-one fresh infections had been reported in the state on Friday.

As many as 19,95,661 patients have so far recovered from the disease in the state.

The number of active cases went up to 601 from 600 on Friday.

Mumbai: Government COVID-19 Vaccine Centers To Remain Shut Today, Tomorrow In View Of Gudi Padwa

In view of Gudi Padwa, no COVID-19 vaccination will take place at Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and government COVID-19 vaccination Centres (CVCs) on Saturday and Sunday, informed the BMC today.

Vaccination will resume across the centers from April 4, added BMC.

"All BMC and Government CVCs will be closed on April 2nd, Saturday, and on April 3rd, Sunday. All vaccination services will resume from April 4, 2022," tweeted BMC.

Marking the beginning of the traditional new year, Gudi Padwa is primarily celebrated by the people in Maharashtra and Goa.

The auspicious festival derives its name from two words -- 'gudi' which is the flag of Lord Brahma and 'padwa' which signifies the first day of the phase of the moon.

The occasion signals the onset of the warmer days and the spring season.

The festival is observed with colorful floor decorations, a special Gudhi flag garlanded with flowers, mango and neem leaves, and topped with upturned silver or copper vessels, street processions, dancing, and festive foods like shrikhand puri.

Gudi Padwa coincides with the first day of the Chaitra Navratra and festivals like Sajibu Cheiraoba, Navreh, Cheti Chand, and Ugadi that are celebrated in different parts of the country.

India's Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage Exceeds 184.52 Crore

India's COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 184.52 crores on Saturday, as per the provisional reports by 7 am, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The ministry informed that this record has been achieved through 2,20,93,346 sessions of vaccine administration.

As per the ministry, the administration of the Covid-19 vaccine for the age group of 12 to 14 years was started on 16 March 2022 and so far, 1.81 Crore (1,81,21,823) adolescents have been provided with the first dose.

Apart from this, a total of 2,33,27,952 precaution doses have been administered to people of age more than 60 years, which included 44,74,440 doses to Health Care Workers (HCWs) and 68,97,755 doses to Frontline Workers (FLWs), said the ministry.

"Excluding the precaution doses, these 1,84,52,44,856 administered vaccine doses involved 1,04,03,737 (1st dose) and 1,00,00,984 (2nd dose) to the HCWs and 1,84,13,339 (1st dose) and 1,75,12,279 (2nd dose) were taken by the FLWs," said the statement issued by the ministry.

"As many as 5,72,68,440 (1st dose) and 3,83,56,896 (2nd dose) were given to the people of the age group 15-18 years. 55,46,83,438 (1st doses) have been taken by the age group 18-44 years, while 46,66,28,426 have taken their 2nd doses. 20,27,60,965 (1st doses) and 18,54,85,333 (2nd doses) have been administered to the age group 45-59 years," it further said.

According to the ministry, following a continuous downward trend, India's Active Caseload declined to 13,445 Active cases, which now constituted 0.03 per cent of the country's total positive cases.

India's recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent, where 1,404 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,24,92,326.

The statement also revealed that in the last 24 hours, 1,260 new COVID-19 cases were reported.

As many as 5,28,021 total COVID-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, thus taking the record of cumulative tests conducted to over 79.02 Cr (79,02,98,979).

The country has seen a sustained fall in the weekly and daily Positivity Rates too. The weekly positivity rate in the country currently stands at 0.23 per cent and the daily positivity rate is also reported to be 0.24 per cent.

Active Case Count Falls To Zero, Andaman & Nicobar Islands Turn Covid-Free

Andaman and Nicobar Islands became a COVID-free union territory with the active case count falling to zero, a senior health official said on Saturday.

The caseload in the archipelago remained at 10,033 as no fresh coronavirus infection was reported in the last 24 hours, while the total number of recoveries stood at 9,904, he said.

The number of deaths in the union territory remained at 129 as no new fatality due to the disease was recorded during the period, the official said.

Altogether 6, 10,418 people have been inoculated with 3,05,336 of them having received both doses of COVID vaccines. At least 23,332 beneficiaries in the age group of 15-18 years have been immunised and 10,591senior citizens have so far got the precautionary jab.

At least 9,593 children in the age group of 12-14 years have been vaccinated, the official said.

The Andaman and Nicobar administration has conducted over 7.12 lakh sample tests for COVID-19 so far, and the cumulative positivity rate stands at 1.41 per cent, he said.

Arunachal Logs One New COVID-19 Case, Tally At 64,486

Arunachal Pradesh today reported one new COVID-19 case, pushing the tally to 64,486, a health official said.

The fresh case was detected from Anjaw district, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The number of deaths in the northeastern state remained at 296 as no fresh fatality was registered in the past 24 hours, he said. Altogether 64,188 people have recuperated from the disease so far, the SSO said.

The state now has two active cases, one each from Anjaw and Shi-Yomi districts.

Notably, Arunachal Pradesh had become a COVID-free state on March 27 as the active case count fell to zero that day. The administration has thus far tested 12,69,329 samples for COVID-19, including 74 on Friday, Jampa said.

State Immunisation Officer Dimong Padung stated that 16,63,792 people have been inoculated till April 1.
