Ouch! This one hurt. Almost physically.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that this is a long shot of a crossing somewhere in India. Because lorries with overloaded containers like this one - long, unwieldy things swaying precariously -- jump traffic lights so often in big Indian cities that the law of probability will not allow such miraculous escapes as the one on this video.
This was in east China's Wenling city in Zhejiang province. The massive container fell over to the side as the driver speeded to avoid having to stop at the red light. He did not manage the long arch needed to turn and the mammoth container was soon traveling on only two sets of wheels before crashing down.
Right from the moment that the driver turns the vehicle in the video, your mouth shall come open and you shall watch the next 40-odd seconds of action from various angles agape.
Catch the lorry turn at 0.10. Heart-stopping when the container falls over and a cyclist abandons his bicycle to jump out of harm's way. Seconds later, the container comes crashing down on the bicycle. Also note how many more vehicles the lorry narrowly avoids hitting.
