Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference leader Farooq Abdullah has confirmed what is perhaps the most dramatic revelation made recently by former chief of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) AS Dulat. Confirming Mr Dulat's claim that Indian intelligence agencies have often bankrolled the expenses of Kashmiri separatists and militants as well as other political parties, Mr Farooq said that India did this to convey a message that ‘we are here to help and not here to kill’. While the former RAW chief has been criticized for revealing secrets of state craft, Mr Abdullah said he should be congratulated for his courage in exposing this, instead of hiding it. Mr Abdullah also confirmed that he helped the son of Syed Salahuddin, the chief of Hizbul Mujahideen, get a placement in the state's medical college.
