Cows can turn their food into 24-carat gold, there is a helmet on Mars which belongs to the days of the Mahabharata, autopsies were done in ancient India by leaving a body floating in water for 3 days, and then today all the talk of airplanes that could fly in all directions between planets in the Vedic Age. Claims that would be completely acceptable at a gathering of mythologists and rishis, but how on Earth did they make their way into the most prestigious science convention in the country? That's the question Indians are asking, as day two of the Indian Science Congress draws to a close. With three days left to go, and the presence of international Nobel laureates, are we going to make any headlines on science or will this congress be remembered only for its overtones of mythology?
