A second-year IIT Bombay student, Sahil Wakode, has died by suicide after being caught using a phone during an exam. Wakode allegedly uploaded the question paper on ChatGPT to seek answers. IIT Bombay said no disciplinary action had been initiated and that he was counselled before returning to his hostel room, where he was later found dead. Students protesting on campus allege he faced possible suspension and pressure. Police have begun an investigation, while students are demanding accountability and transparency from the institute.
