Putin: Russia Has Not Been Asked For Military Help By Iran

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Iran has not requested military assistance from Moscow amid the ongoing conflict with Israel. Speaking at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Putin emphasized that Russia’s strategic partnership with Iran excludes defense obligations. He highlighted Russia’s continued support through civilian nuclear cooperation at Iran’s Bushehr plant. Putin declined to comment on threats against Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei and called for a diplomatic resolution, positioning Russia as a potential mediator to balance relations between Iran and Israel while respecting both nations’ security and sovereignty.
