Guwahati News | Post-BNS, Guwahati Police See Major Gains, Conviction Rate Jumps to 28%
The Guwahati Police have recorded significant improvements in crime control and policing outcomes in 2025, with the conviction rate rising sharply from 4 per cent in 2021 to 28 per cent in 2025 , Joint Commissioner of Police Ankur Jain said during a press conference on Tuesday. Addressing the media, Jain attributed the progress to focused leadership under Commissioner of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta and a series of structural and operational reforms implemented over the year. He said the chargesheet filing rate has also shown marked improvement, strengthening the overall criminal justice process.
