At least 47 people were killed and more than 50 others kidnapped after armed men attacked Kenscoff, a once-peaceful community in the hills above Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince. The United Nations described the incident as one of the largest mass kidnappings in Haiti in recent years. A gang leader has threatened to kill the hostages if authorities kill any gang members during operations to secure the area. The attack has also raised fresh concerns over Haiti’s worsening gang violence and security situation.
