Goa News | Goa Launches Ro-Ro Ferry Service To Boost River Connectivity And Cut Travel Time

A new Roll-on/Roll-off, or Ro-Ro, ferry service between Ribandar and Chodan was launched on Monday by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant at the Chodan ferry ramp. The service promises locals and tourists a faster, more efficient way to cross the Mandovi River, aiming to boost river connectivity and cut down travel time for daily commuters. Built at a cost of 12.5 crore rupees each by Vijai Marine Shipyards, the ferries Gangotri and Dwarka are a significant upgrade over the older ferry system. With wider ramps, air-conditioned seating, improved passenger comfort, and easier vehicle access, the new ferries offer greater speed and convenience for commuters.
