Tarun Tejpal Case: Supreme Court Issues Notice To Goa On 10-Year Jail Term Challenge
The Supreme Court has issued notice to the State of Goa on former Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal's plea challenging the Bombay High Court judgment that convicted him in the 2013 rape case and sentenced him to 10 years in prison. Tejpal's counsel, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, argued that the High Court had reversed an earlier acquittal. The Supreme Court said it will consider his request for a hearing on suspension of the sentence.
