The political row over Vande Mataram has intensified, with the Congress reiterating its stand on the National Song. Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Congress of opposing Vande Mataram in 1937 for “appeasement politics” and alleged that the party is repeating the same approach today. His remarks came after sources said the CWC reached a consensus to sing the first two stanzas and follow its 1937 resolution. Congress has maintained that there is no confusion over its position.
