On The Buck Stops Here, we look at the new trend of military veterans embracing politics. Former Army chief General JJ Singh is all set to contest on Akali ticket against Captain Amarinder Singh of the Congress in Patiala. Retired Major General Satbir Singh has extended support to the Congress. On the show, we ask whether generals have been brought to this point that they believe the best way to give a voice to the soldier is by becoming part of the system where power resides; or is there a danger of the apolitical ethos of the military being undermined when top military officers embrace electoral politics.
