Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Assam over the weekend, addressing 7 rallies as the BJP looks to wrest Assam from 15 years of Congress rule. In his campaign on Friday, the prime minister chose to make development his main plank and also the promotion of chief ministerial candidate and Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, perhaps taking a leaf out of the Bihar's Assembly election disaster last year when a chief ministerial candidate was not named.
