In a wide-ranging conversation with NDTV, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, spoke about key political and social issues in the state. He urged people not to politicise the death of Zubeen Garg, said India is a secular nation where everyone has equal rights, and reiterated that his government's concern is with illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, not any community. Sarma also claimed that more leaders from the Indian National Congress in Assam could join his party in the future.
