Amid the ongoing flood disaster in Himachal Pradesh, the state's ₹5,000 crore apple industry is in danger. The disaster has led to the blockade of major routes and highways, due to which it has become difficult to transport the apple crops to markets. Thousands of boxes of apples have either been destroyed or spoiled due to the flood havoc across Himachal Pradesh.
