The Enforcement Directorate has approached the Calcutta High Court, accusing Mamata Banerjee of wrongfully restraining ED officers during searches at the office and residence of Pratik Jain of Indian Political Action Committee. In its petition, the ED alleged that the Chief Minister, acting in collusion with senior West Bengal Police officials, interfered with an ongoing probe under the PMLA and forcibly took possession of digital devices and key documents during the search operation. The agency has also flagged an alleged Goa elections money trail, claiming proceeds of crime from illegal coal mining were routed through domestic and international hawala channels and used for poll-related activities.
