Heavy rains continue to batter North India, with Himachal Pradesh among the worst-hit states this monsoon season. Fresh landslides have been reported across several districts, severely hampering restoration and relief efforts. In a ground report by NDTV's Ravish Ranjan Shukla, the root cause of frequent landslides was highlighted-unchecked deforestation and hill-cutting practices. The loss of tree cover has weakened hill slopes, making them highly vulnerable during intense rainfall, leading to floods and widespread destruction.
