'Crowd Was Huge, Situation Turned Violent': Injured Delhi Cop Speaks Out

An injured Delhi Police constable, Vikram, speaks exclusively to NDTV, described the chaos during the Turkman Gate violence amid the demolition drive. He said a large crowd had gathered well before midnight and despite police efforts to disperse it, stone-pelting began from one of the roads around 12:30 a.m. Vikram sustained serious head injuries and multiple wounds, while a total of five police personnel were injured in the violence. He claimed barricades were pushed aside by the mob and aggressive slogans were raised before police personnel were forced to move the injured to hospital.
