AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has strongly criticised the Delhi demolition drive, claiming the land in question is Waqf property as per a 1970 government gazette. He said the Delhi High Court should not have decided ownership and that the matter ought to have gone to the Waqf Tribunal. Owaisi alleged serious lapses by the Delhi Waqf Board for not contesting the case, not seeking a review within the given time, and failing to present historical records. He also accused authorities of violating the Places of Worship Act, 1991, and termed the demolition a deliberate and systematic attack on Waqf property. Owaisi urged the Waqf Board and management committee to approach the Supreme Court and seek immediate relief.
