Assam-Meghalaya Border Tensions Escalate, Vehicles Blocked: Ground Report

Vehicles from Meghalaya have reportedly faced restrictions at the Assam-Meghalaya border, while Assam-registered vehicles have allegedly been stopped from entering Shillong by Meghalaya-based groups. Amid the tensions, the Meghalaya government has imposed restrictions on rallies, demonstrations and public gatherings. The Khasi Students' Union is also planning sit-in protests, while the Centre has rushed additional security forces to the state to maintain law and order.
