Tomorrow, Assam heads to the polls for the first-ever single-phase state assembly election in over three decades. Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Goel told NDTV that over 200 polling parties will navigate remote areas using boats and treks, with 800 central force companies deployed to ensure smooth voting. For the first time, all polling stations will feature webcasting and mobile phone counters. He also clarified that complaints regarding the Chief Minister’s nomination can only be addressed by the judiciary.
