A single village in Telangana chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao's home district Medak, has recorded 34 farmer suicides, five of them after the new state of Telangana was born. Opposition parties say even though farmer suicides are being reported everyday, the chief minister is reluctant to declare a drought. Families of the 34 farmers, who ended their life in Yelkal village of Medak district, were brought to Hyderabad by the BJP, to showcase the crisis on the ground.
