Travelling across borders has become quite challenging at the moment due to the ongoing Iran-Israel war. Amid this, a Russian woman garnered much attention for her unique travel experience. Marina Gilla, a Latvia-based English language teacher, recently became the sole passenger on a commercial flight from Riga, Latvia, to Dubai, UAE. On March 8, she was travelling to one of the seven sovereign emirates when she recorded her "VIP" experience on the flight. In a video posted on Instagram, she was seen showing rows of empty seats and a completely one-passenger flight, which she jokingly described as a "private jet" experience.

She was enjoying the journey completely on her own, seated by a window and busy capturing moments. Dressed in a casual outfit, which included a green hoodie alongside a pair of sunglasses, the woman looked every bit delighted with her “solo experience”. Additionally, the flight attendants provided her with extra food and personal attention. In one of the segments of the video, she was seen holding a cup of a cold beverage.
The text attached to the video read, “When you are the only passenger on the plane to Dubai on the 8th of March, 2026!” She further mentioned, “A VIP flight from Riga to Dubai,” and hashtagged the post with words like “travelling”, “private jet”, “vip passenger” and “lol”, hinting at how funny her experience was.

The video soon sparked a wave of reactions on social media, with travellers rooting for her “solo experience”.
A user wrote, “Change your title for: Got a private jet to Dubai!”
Another shared, “At least you have the bathroom all to yourself, and you can eat as many as you like.” Further expressing concern, the person added, “Have you arrived safely though?”
Someone joked, “So you can choose any seat easily, lucky you.”
“They still didn't put you in business class?” someone wondered.
A comment read, “You are so lucky. You just turned this commercial aircraft into a private jet, and all crew members are at your service only.”
“Omg...I wish to get this private jet,” penned a traveller.
A few others even wished her luck for her new job in Dubai.
