Indian Railways has strengthened its network in Rajasthan with the introduction of three new train services, including two Vande Bharat Express trains and one long-distance express. The new connections linking Jodhpur to Delhi Cantt, Bikaner to Delhi Cantt and Udaipur City to Chandigarh were launched on September 25, 2025. The move comes just ahead of the festive season and is expected to provide passengers with faster and more convenient travel options across the region.
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced the development on X, highlighting the government's push towards strengthening infrastructure for a "developed Rajasthan."

Rajasthan Vande Bharat And Express Train Timings
- Jodhpur-Delhi Cantt (Vande Bharat): Departs Jodhpur at 5:30 AM, reaches Delhi by 1:30 PM. The return leaves Delhi at 3:10 PM and arrives in Jodhpur by 11:15 PM.
- Bikaner-Delhi Cantt (Vande Bharat): Leaves Bikaner at 5:45 AM and arrives in Delhi by 11:50 AM. The return departs Delhi at 4:45 PM and reaches Bikaner by 11:00 PM.
- Udaipur City-Chandigarh (Express): Expected to depart Udaipur early morning and reach Chandigarh by late evening, with halts at major junctions including Jaipur, Alwar, and Ambala. The return journey will follow a similar schedule in the opposite direction. (Exact timings to be confirmed by Indian Railways.)

Vande Bharat Express: Facilities And Comfort
The new services bring modern comforts to both day and overnight journeys.
- Speed and efficiency: With a maximum speed of 180 km/h, the trains feature driver cabins at both ends to reduce turnaround delays.
- Safety first: Equipped with anti-collision systems, CCTV surveillance, crash-resistant coaches, and stringent fire safety standards.
- Passenger-friendly design: LED display screens provide travel updates, while interiors feature air-conditioned seating, charging points, infotainment, and rotating seats in executive class.
A few days ago, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also announced that Indian Railways will soon roll out the country's first Vande Bharat Sleeper Express, linking Delhi with Patna and potentially extending to Darbhanga or Sitamarhi in Bihar. According to reports, the service is expected to begin around late September or early October, coinciding with Diwali, Chhath Puja, and the Bihar Assembly elections.
