WD NAS Devices Vulnerable to Attacks Due to a Zero-Day Flaw That's Yet to Be Officially Fixed

Western Digital (WD) devices running My Cloud OS 3 are found to be affected by a zero-day vulnerability that has been discovered and detailed by two security researchers on the Web. The new issue comes just days after a serious vulnerability resulted in data wiping on WD My Book Live.

Google Chrome Update for Windows, Mac, Linux Fixes Critical Zero-Day Bug

This new zero-day vulnerability is reported to be a memory bug in the FreeType font rendering library. This was spotted being abused by a threat actor by the Project Zero team. Project Zero team lead Ben Hawkes advises other app vendors of Freetype to also adopt the emergency fix released on the FreeType website.
