Court orders probe against Yeddyurappa in land denotification case

Barely a fortnight after he was released from jail in two land scam cases, the Lokayukta Court today ordered a probe into a private complaint against former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, Housing Minister V Somanna and two others, alleging irregularities in denotification of land in the state capital.

Arrested former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa will know today if he will spend Diwali in jail or get bail in two corruption cases ahead of the festival of lights. The arrested Bharatiya Janata Party leader's counsel has pleaded for releasing him on a week's bail, in view of Diwali.

Yeddyurappa discharged from hospital, sent to jail

Former Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yeddyurappa has been discharged from Victoria Hospital and sent to Central Jail in Bangalore. Last night, after meeting him, a state BJP leader said Mr Yeddyurappa wanted to return to jail as he was "frustrated" with media reports that accused him of feigning illness as a way to avoid prison.
