World Mobile, the London-based decentralised wireless (DeWi) network has launched its Android app in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and Tanzania. The company provides a network service through a proprietary token called the Mobile World Token (WMT) and a network sharing system built on the Cardano blockchain.

Bengaluru’s Wifi Dabba pioneered a cheap Wi-Fi access model three years ago, giving access through routers placed at kirana stores. Now though, it wants to cover the whole city in Wi-Fi, taking a note from Google and Facebook and using lasers.
