Vikas Bahl has allegedly been accused of sexually harassing a female employee of Phantom Films but Mr Bahl disputes the allegations

"I experimented with too many things in Shaandaar. I think you just have to work harder to make your next film. And hopefully you won't get written off as a director. The idea is to get back to the writing board and work hard for your next film," said Vikas Bahl

Director Vikas Bahl's Shaandaar, which opened in theatres on Dussehra (October 22) managed to collect a mere Rs 33 crores in the first four days. The only silver lining here is that the first day collection was the biggest opening day for a Shahid Kapoor-film

With day two collections amounting to a mere Rs 7 crores, it looks like Vikas Bahl, who directed the hugely successful Queen in 2014, has lost his Midas touch. Queen starring Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon, opened to excellent reviews and continued to rule the theatres three weeks in a row

"What I really liked about the concept is that Vikas came to me with only five lines. He said that it's a love story of two insomniacs, there is a destination wedding, there are some four characters that seem completely crazy to me," said Alia Bhatt

"If you can't get along with the people with whom you are working with for 40 days, it turns out to be worse for you. Thankfully, the whole crew was very young so it was very easy to bond with them. And we used to go out and party a lot," said Shahid

"More than Shahid, it was my father who was more intimidating. He is one of the best actors we have in the country, so when I got to know that I would be working with him, I was of course a little scared. There was a pressure," said Sanah

Vikas has recently directed Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in Shaandaar, which is scheduled to release on October 22. "The intention of filmmaking should be money making. It is not an NGO but a hardcore business and everyone should make money," said Vikas

Composed by Amit Trivedi, Nazdeekiyan has lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and has been sung by Nikhil Paul George and Neeti Mohan. Directed by Vikas Bahl, Shaandaar is scheduled to release on October 22

"Alia Bhatt is all of 22 years old with the experience of a 65-year old, so there's nothing that she doesn't know. She has a Shaandaar point of view to everything and therefore she knows the answers to everything," said Shahid

At the launch of the song Gulaabo from the film, when Shahid was asked what he gifted his wife on her birthday, he replied, "Vikas presented her a birthday gift, which was to show her Shaandaar. She came and she watched 'Shaandaar'. Even I haven't watched the film till now and Vikas has showed it only to Mira"

Gulaabo has quirky lyrics by Anvita Dutt , music by Amit Trivedi and vocals by Vishal Dadlani and Anusha Mani. Produced by Karan Johar, Shaandaar has been directed by Vikas Bahl and also features Pankaj Kapur, Sanjay Kapoor and Anjana Sukhani
