Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor

The Tamil Nadu government is trying to get Hindustan Aeronautics Limited onboard to set up a manufacturing unit at Salem as the state has been chosen for establishing the Centre's ambitious defence corridor, a senior official has said.

Arun Jaitley, in his Budget speech on February 2 last year, had announced that two defence industrial production corridors will be set up in the country to promote domestic defence industry.
