Student Hunger Strike Bengal

Hundreds of students protesting on campus at West Bengal's Burdwan University were attacked by unidentified men with nail-studded batons last evening.

The parents of West Bengal's Jadavpur University students are today sitting on a 12-hour fast at the gate of the campus, supporting the students who are demanding the ouster of Vice Chancellor Avijit Chakraborty.

A third-year engineering student of Jadavpur University in Kolkata was rushed to the hospital this evening after he fainted on campus. Shivam Ghosh was one of 12 students who went on an indefinite hunger strike since Monday night demanding Vice Chancellor Avijit Chakraborty's resignation.
