A special court in Panchkula on Wednesday dismissed pleas challenging CBI closure reports in two cases linked to Ruchika Malhotra molestation against disgraced former Haryana top cop SPS Rathore but allowed the petitioner to move the lower court.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has restored the pension of former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore, the man convicted for molesting Ruchika Girhotra. The court, however said this restoration would be be provisional and subject to the outcome of the appeal filed by Mr Rathore against his conviction in the Supreme Court.

Ruchika Girhotra's family withdraws torture charges against former Haryana top cop SPS Rathore

Ruchika Girhotra's family has reportedly withdrawn charges against former Deputy General of Police (DGP) of Haryana SPS Rathore. They have told the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) that they have no objection to closing of the case. The CBI had filed a closure report in the case around 20 months back.
