Simi Ban Extended

A judicial tribunal has confirmed the five-year extension of the ban imposed on Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), saying the outfit has not abandoned its objective of 'Jehaad' for the cause of Islam.

Underlining zero tolerance against terrorism, Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday announced that the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) has been declared an "unlawful association" and the ban on it has been extended by another five years.

The Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), which was involved in a series of terror acts in the country, has been banned by the government for five years as it continues to indulge in subversive activities.
