Shahid Balwa's father says he'll offer thanks at Mecca

A special CBI court yesterday granted bail to Swan Telecom promoter and 2G case accused Shahid Balwa, citing the "principle of parity" a day after five co-accused were given bail by the Delhi High Court. The bail plea of RK Chandolia, ex-aide of former telecom minister A Raja, was kept pending for Wednesday.

Shahid Balwa, the promoter of Swan Telecom, has been granted bail in Delhi today. Of the 14 people arrested for the telecom scam, 11 have now been permitted to go home. Those still in prison include former telecom minister A Raja, and two former bureaucrats who worked closely with him.
