RTI Activist Attacked For Seeking Information On Illegal Mining In Gujarat

A Right to Information (RTI) activist was allegedly attacked by a group of unidentified persons outside the Collector office in Tapi district of Gujarat for allegedly seeking information and opposing "illegal mining" there, police said today.

An RTI activist was attacked by four persons, two of them believed to be cricket bookies, with a knife and a hammer in suburban Kandivali, police said today. According to police, Mehul Kataria (39) was walking on the road last night in Kandivali when four persons, started thrashing him with knife and hammer.
