The US India Business Council (USIBC) has said it is ready to work with a new government led by BJP leader Narendra Modi to advance the US-India partnership and deepen economic ties.

Majority of American companies consider India as a massive opportunity as the country is on a growth trajectory, a top American business advocacy group today said.

The bill retains several killer provisions, particularly those related to the H-1B visa, which allows US employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations.

The only time when the USIBC had launched a similar kind of effort was in 2006 when it hired the services of Patton Boggs to successfully lobby in favour of the historic Indo-US civilian nuclear deal at the Capitol Hill.
