Rex Tillerson Visits South Asia

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today on his first official visit to South Asia, as the world's two biggest democracies look to deepen economic and strategic ties amid China's growing clout.

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is visiting Islamabad to implement the South Asia strategy of President Donald Trump, a State Department official has said while he urged Pakistan to take "decisive action" against militant groups based inside the country.

The State Department told reporters earlier this week that Tillerson would not take any of them on a March 15-19 trip to Japan, South Korea and China, countries of strategic, military and economic interest to the United States.
