Raghunath Jha

Former Union minister Raghunath Jha passed away at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in the early hours on Monday.

The National Green Tribunal issued notices to Ministry of Environment, Urban Redevelopment and state owned National Building Construction corporation against ongoing demolition drives in seven government housing colonies. The NGT was acting on a complaint by former union minister Raghunath Jha.

The BJP today said that Opposition 'Mahagath bandhan' or 'grand alliance' was a "sinking ship" from which Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav was the first one to jump off to save himself and his party.

Among the prominent candidates are former union ministers Raghuvansh Prasad Singh and Raghunath Jha as well as filmmaker Prakash Jha.
