Public lender Punjab Nation Bank reported a 29 per cent dip in its net profit to Rs 806 crore for the quarter ending March 2014 on high provisioning for bad loans.

The lender also reported an improvement in asset quality. Its gross non-performing asset (NPA) came at 2.94 per cent in the March quarter compared to 3.32 per cent in the December quarter whereas its net NPA improved to 1.52 per cent against 1.88 per cent in the December quarter.
